Very strong technical background with thorough knowledge of equipment design & development, tooling, jigs& fixtures, change over mechanisms, error proofing, pneumatics
Should be able to write equipment specs independently, estimate BOM & perform costing for budgeting for internal purpose & effective negotiations with external suppliers
Thorough understanding of drawings, tolerances & fits preferably GD&T. Good knowledge of 2-D CAD & 3D CAD software (Unigraphic, Soild, Catia etc.) is preferred.
Good exposure to precision assembly system, leak testing, plastic joining and vibration weldingtechnologies, Flow restriction testing system is required
Should have knowledge of toolroom machineries.
Should have good understanding of IATF 16949 quality systems
Should be very thorough in APQP Process documents like PFD, PFMEA, Control plans & should have adequate knowledge ofControl Charts, Measurement Systems Analysis, problem solving technique like six sigma, 7 QC tools, 8D would be added advantage
Should be conversant with Lean manufacturing principles for layout planning, Value Stream Mapping, Kanban & Pull System
Good in understanding various forms of waste, should have the capability to take result oriented corrective actions
Should have positive attitude & good coaching skills
Preferred Qualifications and Experience:
Graduate- Mechanical Engineer Should have experience of 7-12 years minimum in manufacturing process design & development and quality systems for reputed Auto-Components industry, preferably from MNC based set up
