Systems engineering is a cross-functional engineering discipline centered on an approach, mindset, and process. The discipline that executes a robust process of design, creation and optimization of systems, consisting of identification and quantification of system requirements, creation of alternate system design concepts, performance of design trade studies, selection and implementation of the best designs and verification that the design is properly integrated and executed.

As a Lead Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for:

Conducting component and product integration. All activities that span multiple components and products and are concerned with how to integrate for maximum performance and operability.
Being responsible for driving CTQ / Risk trades within the teams designing the components.
Having knowledge of technical concepts in technologies that intersect with own technical space.
Gathering customer requirements and project specific details for Bently Nevada hardware based solutions.
Creating/modifying documents for clarity on sensor wiring of Control Systems and Bently Nevada equipment.
Providing technical support to customers, vendors, co-workers on Bently Nevada equipment and functions. Provide support on communication networks for control system applications.
Providing system design engineering as required to facilitate the ordering, engineering, installation (construction) design and commissioning of Bently Nevada solutions.
Supporting Engineering Services field personnel in technical resolution of field problems. Providing assistance with quality assurance on projects.

To be successful in this role you will:

Have Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering preferable Electrical/Electronics / Mechanical / Megatronics from an accredited university or college with 5+ years of Industry experience.
Have good experience of working with controls or system instrumentation in an industrial, Oil and Gas or Energy environment
Show good knowledge of Networking, Hardware and Protocols, integration with DCS systems and management software’s
Demonstrate good knowledge of Modbus, OPC, NetDDE and serial communications protocols (RS232, 422, 485)
Have good electronic and mechanical problem solving and troubleshooting skills with a hands-on approach
Have excellent communication skills in English and be able to explain complex technical information to customers and technical personnel
