About the job
As a Technical Product Manager and a Product Owner, you will be part of L&T PT&D Digital Solutions’ Product Team under CTO organization to drive innovation around our Digital Solutions Products for the Cleantech/Energy & Utilities products. You will help develop, document, and execute a comprehensive plan to understand user needs, iterate on product scope and ensure the timely development of highly complex technical products. With the CTO, you will be responsible for giving our teams the information and product methodology needed to succeed and continuously help us improve as an organization.


Expertise in energy & utilities industry
Experience in product engineering/development roles.
strong technical skills and rich experience in managing domain requirements.
This position demands a mix of management and technical skills to lead development teams.

Primary Skills:

Uncover and understand customer needs and translate them into technical product (functional/non-functional/technical) requirements.
Prepare and review product requirements documents (PRD) / Manage Product Backlog.
Ability to work well with internal teams, including developers, engineers, architects, quality assurance, as well as business operations such as Product marketing managers, business segment teams (Business Analysts).
Ensure requirements are fully understood and that implementation plans match expectations.
Understand, research, and follow technical trends in the industry and in general.
Follow competitors and conduct technical capability analysis regularly.
Provide internal and customer training on how to use the product.
Provide technical product support to presales, Sales & Marketing teams, participate in customer demos, answer and resolve prospective customer technical / regulatory related queries.
Assess, document, and address technical risks in collaboration with architecture and product development teams.
Serve as a product evangelist and subject matter expert to the technical/developer community.
Coordinate beta tests and define success criteria for testing and product acceptance.


Facilitate the creation and maintenance of proper product documentation.
Create and Maintain product educational content such as end user product manuals, FAQ’s, product training videos etc.
Collaborate with senior management, stakeholders and partnering teams to create product plans and roadmaps.
Prepare recommendations to expand product base and vision.
Organize product release cadence and ensure the compliance with schedule.
Ability to understand and educate cross functional team on Region Specific Grid Compliance code requirements and CEA guidelines.

Job Location:

Chennai, Pune, Indore, Kochi, Hyderabad.

Travel Requirements: Up to 20%

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, And Experience:

Bachelor’s Degree with 6 – 10 years of Product Engineering/Product Development/Technical Product Management experience (5+ years with master’s degree).
Experience in digital / software solutions and products for Electrical Power Transmission & Distribution Industry.

Preferred Knowledge/Skills:

2+ years’ experience in Distributed Energy Resource Management, Energy management System, Distribution Management System, EV Charging Infrastructure Management or relevant fields.
5+ years’ experience as Product Owner
