Job Description
MAIN RESPONSABILITIES :
Delivery of Car bodyshell Engineering outputs, in compliance with the Engineering QCD commitments.
Deploys and applies on project Train Design activities
Ability to design & lead small area of work on NPD / carryover product
Organizes and leads his work package reviews for the project he/she is in charge
Manages Risk Assessment and Mitigation Plan,
Reports his targets to Train Design Engineer/Metier manager (QCD consolidation and risks).
Good understanding of vehicle architecture and systems and their methods of installation.
Supports Lead engineer in establishing product design & reviews to meet the project deadlines.
Supports industrialization and production teams during manufacturing ramp-up.
Defines and monitors the conformity Mechanical Sub-Systems deliveries and other providers with project needs.
Good awareness of the product cost drivers and an ability to optimize solutions to achieve a cost-effective product that meets the functionality and performance requirements.
Manage work package from other ALSTOM site with partners (Managing the Small team of External suppliers)
Knowledge about Materials like Austenitic Stainless steel, ALUMINIUM , Carbon steel & there use on structural elements
Corrosion aspects & sealing.
Performing 3D, design annotations and 2D deliverables in compliance with QCD commitments, Metier rules and processes.
Performing Detailed Design on internal sub-systems.
Filling-up attributes for each part in Digital Mock-Up (naming, material, Fire & Smoke, etc.)
Verifying consistency of digital mock-up (no clash, etc.) and compliance with requirements (allocated volumes, weight, interfaces, etc.) on assigned scope.
Updating Digital Mock-Up taking into account Change Requests.
Checking CADs’ and sub-contractor’s Design Quality
Realizing stack-up analysis.
Realizing Bill of Material.
Planning and piloting Carbody Domain activities of assigned zone and related deliverables on project taking into account applicable instructions/processes and other specific Customer (internal or external) requirements.
Resolving Project Mechanical Carbody issues in assigned zone.
Reporting on Carbody Domain activities progress and alerting relevant N+1 in case of issue potentially impacting achievement of QCD commitments.
Respecting and/or allocating requirements and mechanical interfaces to Sub-Systems/equipments (Allocated volume, weight, location, 3PL, etc.)
Contributor for :
Perform quotation of engineering work package , upon request
Defining Project Mechanical Decomposition (PBS)
Supporting Sourcing, Industrialization and Manufacturing teams during Production ramp-up.
Collaborating with MDL for continuous improvement of the Domain (including RoE)
Educational Requirements Bachelor of Engineering / Master in Mechanical / Industrial Engineering
Mandatory:
Graduated / Post Graduate from Premier Engineering College.
Experience 5-9 years’ experience on core structural design of rolling stock / automotive BIW / Aircraft structure preferably applied to Railway products with 3 to 5 years of experience.
Experience of structural design & Sheet metal Design
Good knowledge on the sheet metal, extrusion manufacturing & related processes.
Must have knowledge about welding processes, welding standards
DFEMA knowledge & exaction on projects.
Functional Tolerancing & Dimensioning using tools
Strong CATIA , DMA ENOVIA skill to perform design activity.
Rolling stock structure design
