This exciting role offers opportunity to:
Job Summary : ‘The primary function of the role is to lead key technology innovation initiatives for immediate/short & long term growth portfolio of Eaton. As a core team member of Research Portfolio, incumbent will collaborate with other technology groups within Eaton and enable organic growth. Contributes in technology realization programs/projects utilizing our internal project execution processes, including Gate Reviews, Design Reviews, and Technical Reviews. Also responsible to conceptualise eMobility Power Electronics solutions for electric vehicles ( Hybrid, Fuel Cell Electric, Battery Electric).
As a member of the team, incumbent is responsible for concept generation & execution against project requirements and timelines for component like DC/DC converters, inverters, vehicle to grid chargers etec. Incumbent is responsible to support development of technical proposals in consultation with Lead Engineers, Subject Matter Experts. Responsible to study latest market drivers, technology trends.
Learn and apply DFSS tools, design analysis methods and concept verification calculations per engineering principles. Read & create prints, review CAD 3D models, follow change management process and release into ENOVIA PLM system.
Job Responsibilities :
Develops high power density product designs involving electrical / power electronics / hardware design and interface designs from End-to-end. Optimize design for energy efficiency and various performance strategies using physical modeling or simulation toolsSupport reserach projects from conceptualization to commericialisation under guidance of Subject Matter Experts
Champions innovative solutions for High power inveter design, Converter topologies, Switching methods and control, HV gate driver, isolation design and HV protection; Filters and magnetics design and solid-state device selection; Leads project level deliverables in High-Speed Communication Circuits, and Digital and Analog Controls, I/O Interface Circuits and Control Hardware.
Develops products to comply performance, functional safety, reliability and cost requirements. Writes and maintains product specifications and functional specifications of design solutions for inverter product to meet performance, functional safety and reliability. Develops engineering tools and continuously improves operational efficiency. Evaluates alternative design solutions to meet product development requirements factoring in performance, cost and schedule. Interface with products teams in EIIC and global locations; act as the liaison for program associated with associated simulation technologies
Monitors progress and achievements on projects, ensure technical reviews and expert resolution of issues and monitor integration of work. Executes projects as per recommendations and in compliance with ASPICE and IATF 16949 Deploys FMEA/FMEDA process to enhance design robustness. Contribute to continued enhancement of architecture to support additional product features.
Preferred / Additional specialized knowledge Experience in Vehicle to Grid charging solution development, pulsed power, capacitor chargers, electromagnetics, microelectronics, and thermal design is a plus.
Experience in Analyzing and simulating power electronics systems including, analog, logical, and digital electronics.
Leverages use of Hardware in the Loop simulation systems.
Experience in hardware-software interface and control design
Experience in Validation, Verification and Certification of Auto / Electrical domain
Knowledge of Reliability for Power electronics, Embedded system Design.

Requirement:
Education level required : 3-5 years hands on experience in design/development, research projects
Technical knowledge :
Masters in Electrical / Power Electronics engineering with industry experience and proven track record in engineering research / analysis / product design in HV DC-AC inverter Power electronics, Vechile to Grid Chargers. Required
Experience in new product development projects and in the field of power electronics.
Knowledge of quality standards and certifications (IATF 16949, ISO9001, ISO14001)
Excellent mastery of FMEA method for the design of new products
Experience in hybrid / vehicle electrification
Experience in ISO 26262 functional safety processes.
Experience in following tools – MATLAB/Simulink, PSpice/ LT Spice/ Simetrix, PSIM/SABER
Preferred / Additional specialized knowledge
Experience in pulsed power, capacitor chargers, electromagnetics, microelectronics, and thermal design is a plus.
Experience in Analyzing and simulating power electronics systems including, analog, logical, and digital electronics.
Leverages use of Hardware in the Loop simulation systems..
