This position is a individual contributor role part of Vehicle – Systems engineering team developing Electric Vehicle (EV) Powertrain systems solutions for commercial electrical vehicle.
Incumbent being a member of the System engineering team is responsible to support on system engineering work packages for multiple new product development projects.
The role contributes towards the engineering work package for stage gate process. Expectations from the role is to independently support the development of system architecture and define the detailed requirements for EV torque control systems such as e-Axles and differentials.
The role will contribute to design and development of EV unique system architectures and contribute to innovation, IP generation. This role will support multiple projects related to ePowertrain
Support the system engineering work packages and technical solutions for the existing and new product development projects.
Support system level detailed requirements for EV systems, subsystems and components to meet system level performance, EMI/ EMC and reliability. Model based requirements synthesis for the ePowertrain (eAxles, Differentials)
Designs product for cost, reliability and safety in collaboration with mechanical, hardware, software, team. Deploys the right methods to define interfaces and deploys the best practices to manage interfaces.
Adopts analysis first approach and first-time right approach to develop the EV Torque control products.
Collaborates with validation teams to build test cases and write test procedures.
Utilizes the DFSS methodology and tools. Develops System-FMEA to ensure design robustness. Contributes to continued enhancement of architecture to support additional product features.
Requirement

Qualifications
Undergraduate / Graduate degree in Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics engineering
4 – 6 years of experience with multinational engineering organization
Exposure to AUTOSAR, ISO 26262, ASPICE standards, IBM Jazz Tools, Vector Tools such as CANape and CANalyzer and MATLAB/Simulink tools.
Work & interact with global cross-functional and cross-cultural team. Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to clearly communicate to internal/external customers and suppliers.
Good understanding of digital validation tools and techniques to predict performance of products including flow and thermal simulations, control systems, system architecture, system modeling and tools, Six Sigma (DFSS) expertise. Good understanding of TCU(Controller architecture, sensor usage and analysis) would be added advantage.
Good understanding of function safety(FuSa) line items like HARA, FSR, and FSC etc, and independently derive the TSR(Technical safety requirements).
Good understanding FTA(Fault tree analysis), and able prepare failure list in different product lines in commercial EV Powertrain.
Able to dissect a system into logical components by function and or feature.
(Required) Able to identify critical interdependencies between systems and or components.
Experience with ISO 26262 and/or ASPICE standards.
Experience with Agile Development Processes.
Mechanical/Electrical simulation or design experience.
Experience with IBM Jazz Tools.
Experience with AUTOSAR framework.
Experience with Vector Tools such as CANape and CANalyzer
Experience with MATLAB/Simulink tools.
